This Privacy Policy explains how the FamiNest Kids app collects, uses, stores, and shares information when it is installed on a child's device and paired with a parent's FamiNest account.
Last Updated: April 1, 2026
FamiNest Kids is the companion app for FamiNest. It is installed on a child's device by a parent or guardian and paired with the parent's FamiNest account using a temporary pairing code. Once paired, FamiNest Kids applies the parental-control rules set by the parent, such as app time limits, schedules, app blocking, and family-safety features. The child device does not require a separate login account.
To provide parental-control and family-safety features, FamiNest Kids may collect the following categories of information from the child device:
FamiNest Kids uses Android's Accessibility Service to deliver its core parental-control features. With consent obtained through an in-app prominent disclosure before the service is enabled, the Accessibility Service is used to:
FamiNest Kids collects the device's location only while the app is active (foreground) to provide family-safety features such as showing the device's location to the linked parent. The app does not request or use background location and does not collect location when it is closed. Location is shared only with the parent who supervises the device through their FamiNest account, and is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.
FamiNest Kids may request additional Android permissions required for parental-control functionality, including usage access, display over other apps (overlay), notification access, device administrator, foreground-service operation, and battery-optimization exclusion. Each permission is used only to provide the supervision features the parent has enabled. Certain features may not work properly unless these permissions are granted.
We do not sell personal information and do not use Accessibility or location data for advertising. Information from the child device is shared only with the linked parent's FamiNest account and with service providers and infrastructure partners (such as Google Cloud / Firebase) that help us operate FamiNest, or as required by law.
We use cloud infrastructure and related Google Cloud / Firebase services to store and process the data required to operate FamiNest. We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, and maintain operational records. Pairing codes and temporary operational data may expire or be deleted automatically.
FamiNest Kids is intended to be installed by a parent or guardian on a device used by their own child, for lawful family supervision. By installing and pairing the app, the parent or guardian confirms they have the authority and any required consent to supervise the child device. Parents can stop data collection at any time by unpairing the device, disabling permissions, or uninstalling the app.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, depending on the location of our service providers and infrastructure, subject to applicable safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of FamiNest Kids after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy, to the extent permitted by law.
